You're getting married, you have your best girls around you, you see how beautiful, kind, thoughtful, and helpful they are. You WISH you could have them see themselves through your eyes, because we all know the hardest person on yourself is you. Why not get in touch with a local boudoir photographer, and see if they offer special rates for a boudoir marathon!
Think about it, prancing around in a gorgeous hotel room or studio MADE for this kind of thing, wearing adorable teddies and robes and bralettes, getting your hair and makeup done professionally, drinking champagne, making toasts to everyone all day. As if that's not enough, now add in an AMAZING photoshoot that will make you and all of your girls feel sexy, confident, feminine, and powerful!
Honestly, what more could you want in a bachelorette party?
TELL ME, HOW CAN I PLAN SUCH A THING?
First thing you need to do, is find a boudoir photographer in the area that you absolutely LOVE! Send them an email, telling them about your idea, how many ladies are in your bridal party, and find out if they offer a special rate for a "boudoir marathon" (aka mini boudoir sessions).
Next, you will want to be in good communication with that photographer, so make sure you pick somebody that has good response times. Ask her about outfits, ideas, maybe you can style a few amazing backdrops, and then see if she has any suggestions on location! You will likely want to find somewhere that has separate spaces, one for hair/makeup/hanging out, and one for the actual shoot to take place. Find out if your photographer has a studio space, and make sure there are separate spaces/enough space for all of you plus a beauty team. If she doesn't have a studio, that is TOTALLY okay. Some other options would be to see if a lady in your party has an amazing house with beautiful decor and abundant natural light in her bedroom, to use her house, or look online for a high-end suite to reserve for the day (and if you are doing a true bachelorette weekend, it doubles as your place to sleep with all your 'maids)!
MY MAID OF HONOR SALLY ISN'T COMFORTABLE WITH THE IDEA OF SOMEONE HAVING NAKED PICTURES OF HER
So here's the thing about boudoir, you don't have to be naked! You don't even have to be half naked. Boudoir can be done just as effectively in a loungey sweatshirt and comfy shorts! Fine art boudoir photography is about celebrating your femininity, and that doesn't always have to mean that you are showing skin. If anything, you can be even MORE sensual by leaving more to the imagination, if done correctly.
Most photographers make it optional to sign a model release. This means that if you choose not to sign the model release, they can't use your images online anywhere, they are for your eyes, and anyone you choose to show them to, only. Sometimes there is an incentive to sign the release, sometimes there isn't, but either way, the choice is yours! We photographers love to be able to share your beauty and fearless femininity with the world, but we know where you are coming from, and we understand that everyone has a different modesty level.
WHAT WOULD I DO WITH THESE PHOTOS ANYWAY?
Boudoir sessions have so many perks, deliberate or not. The number one thing that you would likely want to do with them is to give them to your spouse-to-be. Of course, maybe not everyone in your party is married or even has a significant other, but I am here to tell you that boudoir should NEVER be only for the person you plan to give the images to. Something clicks for women when they get in front of the camera. Being all dolled up, in a soft, romantic environment, with a photographer who truly sees your WORTH and is striving with every click to somehow portray what she sees in you, it creates a fabulous high that lasts all day.
So really, it comes down to your group of girls and deciding whether you think this is something they would like to do. You can all come together to pay your own way into the marathon, and pass it off as a day of FUN to laugh, joke, and celebrate with those closest to you.
