The sun is shining through the trees, but the heat from it barely reaches her as she gathers the sheer fabric closer to her body. Although she is cold, she wants to stay out just a bit longer. She takes a deep breath in and exhales slowly, seeing her breath in the freezing air. There is something special about being outdoors in the cold, making her feel powerful and vulnerable at the same time.
Photographer Laura Purtee’s vision for this boudoir was inspired by the poet Rainer Maria Rilke:
I have always been inspired by the quote, “To be what I am. To live the life that was set for me to live. To voice the things that only I can voice. To bear the blossoms that are commanded of my heart. This is what I want, and surely, this cannot be presumptuous.” I feel like this is so true of each journey we are on as women in this life. I wanted this session to inspire that feeling of being free to be who you are, vulnerable, powerful, intimate, beautiful and confident.
Our wish is that this session will encourage you to explore the world in a more intimate way. Allowing ourselves to be vulnerable can lead to wonderful new feelings of strength and beauty. We hope that sharing these words will give you confidence to share your own unique and powerful voice.
