From the Photographer:
There is something so peaceful about the beach at sunrise. The world is just starting to wake up, and the colors shift from soft blues to golden sunshine. The beach has a special place in my heart–it feels so liberating to stand by the wild, free waves. The seaside is the perfect place for an adventurous and empowering boudoir session. We loved exploring Florida’s beautiful Rosemary Beach and playing in the sand and waves as the sun came up.
While indoor boudoir sessions can be gorgeous, there is something special about photographing your boudoir session outside. Here are my tips for a successful outdoor boudoir session:
1. Do a sunrise session. Sunrise is early and it can be tough to get motivated to start so early in the morning. However, the light at sunrise is soft and golden, and outdoor locations will be less crowded.
2. Ask your venue. Sometimes wedding venues will allow brides to photograph their boudoir sessions on the property. Bridal suites are often a great option, but ask if you can use the outdoor space at your venue. Ask about shooting after hours so you have more privacy.
3. Ask someone who owns private property. If you don't live by the beach, look for a private farm, wooded area, or pool that may work!
I know it can feel intimidating to get in front of the camera, but boudoir sessions are all about making you feel gorgeous, sexy, and confident in your body. You are beautiful and vibrant just the way you are. When selecting outfits, it's important to choose pieces you feel comfortable and confident in. The great part about boudoir is that you can choose outfits that cover or reveal more, depending on what you're comfortable with. For this session, we photographed in two different body suits that were flattering and sensual. Neutral colors paired gorgeously with the beach color palette, and metallic touches added a special sparkle.
