From the photographer:
I first saw the session location on Instagram and I instantly knew that it would make for the dreamiest boudoir backdrop. The space is small and intimate, a beautiful little jewel box of all white, with an antique outdoor bathtub. The tub sparked my imagination and I knew that I wanted to incorporate it in the session. I had a vision of a woman soaking in the tub, blooms strewn in the water to both conceal and reveal her figure. I collaborated with Colibiri Blooms and we envisioned the session in three parts; a playful series of photos incorporating a floral crown; a dreamy, reflective series with a few blooms in her hair; and the final series of her submerged in the flower filled bath. It rained the day of our session, but I think that it added a softness to the light that makes it extra romantic.
From the client:
Boudoir is something I never thought I would do because I always assumed it was something intimidating where I would have to be someone I’m not. After some exploring, I realized there’s another side to it. I knew that I wanted photos that were soft, feminine, romantic - but not over-the-top. These were more than a gift to my husband; it was something I wanted to do for myself so it was important to me that my photographer and I maintained the integrity of who I am in the shoot. I am so glad I was able to find someone that could share in my vision and who could take control in guiding me so that I could achieve it. Miranda heard my voice, understood my goals. Her ability to me feel beautiful in some very vulnerable moments allowed me to truly embrace the moment and be confident behind the camera. She was even able to laugh with me during the moments I felt a little awkward, yet still maintained gentle control over the shoot. I learned boudoir has many directions and can be whatever you want it to be, and that’s exactly what we were able to achieve here.
