Deciding to do a boudoir session can often feel like deciding to open yourself up to the world for comments, criticism or even judgment. We get so many stories from women who have had their photos taken but are nervous to share them online because they don’t want their families or friends to see them being so vulnerable with their bodies and spirits. Our hope in creating Boudoir Collective has been to give women a safe place to be open with their lives, themselves and their bodies.
When Wynona of Wynona Benson Photography submitted this secret outdoor boudoir session to us, we could tell from the first image that her client Emily was someone who is ready to share herself. Wynona knew she had the perfect combination of client and location for this shoot, each playing off the other to create some boudoir magic. She explained:
We found this location not too long before this shoot -- the perfect location to do outdoor boudoir. You drive through all these trees and then there’s suddenly a beautiful little area that has greens, a water pond and everything that you need for an outdoor session. It's hidden behind so many trees, like a little heaven on earth. We want to show the beauty of the woman to the world eventually, but we don't want anyone to interrupt a beautiful photoshoot!
And although they chose a secret garden location for their session, we can tell that Emily was ready during this session to show her true self not only to her husband (what a gift for him!) but also to our community. It’s everything we love about boudoir captured in one shoot -- a little bit daring, a secret to discover, and a celebration of the amazing female form.
