From the Photographer:
The original concept for the shoot was "lace and love letters." Writing love letters, not in the form of short text messages or social media blasts, has become a thing of the past but it's something that I find so romantic. The emotional experience of pouring your heart into writing a letter, and the anticipation of the next letter arriving is exciting and lovely in a way modern romance doesn't experience. I wanted the style to be soft and evoke a feeling of that romance, sensuality, love and beauty. Once I had the original concept it was important for me to get to know my client and mold it to fit her personality, style, and story. I still wanted the shoot to be sexy, but in a way that was appropriate for my client and why she chose to do a session in the first place. The set was to be simple; nothing beyond the bed or chair, so that the beauty of my client could be the most important part of the image. She was a new mother who wanted to get back to feeling sexy, but was also pretty nervous about the session and how the images would turn out. I guided her choices in lingerie, and we went with cream and black lacy pieces with a few accessories (including some red roses!). I wanted the red roses to help us capture the romance, but not be used too much or in a traditional way. Hair and make-up were fairly simple, and accentuated her natural features without being too much. And above all else, I wanted this romantic session to capture my client's true and authentic beauty. At the end of the day, it's always about creating beautiful images of my clients that speak to their heart and tell their story.
From the Client:
I had the opportunity to have a boudoir session done when I was only 5 months postpartum. I still had the baby weight on me and to be completely honest I wasn't feeling the sexiest. I wasn't in the best shape and being a new mom I am constantly covered in something that has to do with my child. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and do a boudoir session as a gift to myself and my fiance. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was nervous at first that the photos might not be flattering but as soon as Meghan started taking the images and showed me some previews I knew I had nothing to worry about. She captured my best side and made me feel comfortable while taking the images. I would thoroughly encourage anyone to get a boudoir session done with Meghan. She helped me to realize that even though I am a new mom that I can still be sexy and beautiful.
