“When you gaze out on a quiet, peaceful meadow, next to a still pond, under a motionless blue sky, you wonder how the noisy, busy cacophony of life could have arisen from such silent, motionless beginning.” from The Meaning of Life
Jane sat on a chair looking out from her window across the fields. Although the whole house was recently renovated, she can feel the history living in the soft grey walls, dating back to the early 1900s. The remembrance of all the people who have passed through this room and how quickly life moves forward fills her with peace. All her nerves vanish when she turns her head toward the natural light from the sun, and everything falls into place. The room feels so calm, leaving you wondering about what fills her mind as she gazes through the window.
Cat from The Sweet Reveal submitted this lovely boudoir to us along with the above quote from The Meaning of Life. She shared a bit about this serene session and her thought process with us:
For this session with Jane, I wanted to create a sense of calm and tranquility, of serenity. Something which we lack in our busy and hectic lives. Boudoir is about revealing the inner self, not the outer flesh. As much as the images are not typical portraits, neither are they stereotypical images of a woman in her underwear.
I really want to change the way women see boudoir, and create a shoot style which liberates and celebrates women, in a soft, feminine and romantic way. I strive all the time to create images from the heart, images which are emotional and emotive. That means I have to open my heart too. It's the only way to create an image which stirs the soul.
We adore the idea of infusing everyday life with as much peace and calm as possible, whether that come from drawing yourself a bubble bath, taking an extra long coffee break, or pausing to spend a few minutes outside. Our favorite idea has to be planning a boudoir session for yourself because it forces you to not only set aside a few hours for introspection, but it also produces a life-long reminder of the serenity you will feel during your session. We hope Jane’s quiet and peaceful boudoir encourages you to schedule on of your own!
