“In whatever way a woman feels beautiful, that is what I want. Whether she is in a t-shirt and jeans, a lace bodysuit, or a cozy sweater, any of those can showcase her beauty all the same.” Kristin Garcia
One of the most exciting parts of Boudoir Collective is connecting with artists who are working to help reinvent the way boudoir imagery is portrayed. Photographer Kristin Garcia recently launched a new site to showcase her loving approach to boudoir photography. Kristin shared, “I feel like ‘boudoir’ has such a nasty connotation associated to it. Many people think of it either as completely erotic or just negatively, when it is anything but.” Kristin has made it her goal to capture the pure beauty of a woman, without overly done makeup or erotic posing. Just simple, clean, beautiful images.
We think we can all agree that she has succeeded in creating breathtaking images of women with a romantic and classic approach. Her session with Kathleen showcases what we love most about boudoir photography, which is the ability it has to make the most simple things stunningly beautiful. Kathleen is the focal point of this session, sharing the parts of herself that make her feel the most beautiful. We aren’t distracted by poses or props, but encouraged to focus on the intimacy boudoir art allows us to share.
As we continue to work as a community to shift perceptions around boudoir art, we hope Kristin’s words and images will serve as an inspiration to you!
