Inspiration comes in many different forms. For some, a song or movie, for others, nature. We don't care where it comes from, all we know is that when it hits, magic happens. On a wedding day, there is usually barely enough time to breathe, let alone think, but when inspiration hits Lex, the photographer behind this beautiful set, she made time to share with the world the images she saw in her heart when she spotted this beautiful bride's veil.
Here is more of what she had to say behind this quick, impromptu session:
I was inspired to do this shoot because of the contrast of Olivia's vibrant tattoos with gorgeous her tulle ballgown and cathedral veil. My goal in creating these images was to combine edgy and ethereal and ensure this bride felt beautiful on her wedding day. It was the middle of a crazy morning –but then again, aren’t all wedding mornings a little hectic?—and while everyone else was running around, rushing to finish their hair and makeup, I saw her cathedral veil hanging in the corner. I grabbed it and motioned for her to follow me upstairs and out of the fray. We snuck away from the kids, the bridesmaid, and the beauty team for a mini boudoir session with that stunning veil.
Boudoir is such an intimate experience, so to squeeze it in during a few stolen minutes seemed crazy and impossible! With kids banging on the door and people downstairs looking for her, I wrapped the veil around her and said to think of nothing else but her future husband and breathe. We were able to create a moment of calm and reflection, and that is when it seemed to sink in that this was her wedding day. Being a bride I such a unique and short (only a few hours!) experience, so to take even a few images to capture the moment is so important.
The fact that the pillow on her bed had "love you forever" embroidered on it was too perfect.
Too perfect, indeed!
