Boudoir is one of the best things a woman can do for her self esteem. Just think: when we look at someone we love, all we think about is how beautiful, intelligent, and sweet she is, when sadly, most women do not have the ability to see that side of themselves...yet.
When you take the time to find a fine art boudoir photographer, whose work you absolutely love, and can see the true beauty of these women you don't even know, you are heading in the right direction. Boudoir is a journey you take internally. A journey to seeing how others see you, to understanding that you really are THAT beautiful, and to allowing this knowledge to seep into the rest of your life.
The photographer, Veronica Maltoni, shared a few words with us on her process and specifically this client's own journey:
I started shooting boudoir after a personal sort of empowerment path. It was all about finding myself and the new me I discovered made a high positive impact on my life, and my creativity. When I found out about boudoir, I immediately looked beyond the sexy images. It was a chance for every woman to experience freedom, to not be judged, and to feel the permission to be silly, sexy, playful, and oh so charming.
This was the case of a young woman who was in search of a healthy dose of self esteem. I asked her to collect in advance a few images she considered beautiful if she has any (this helps me a lot in connecting me with the client) and we worked to create a few light and airy sets and finished with something more moody. This was the most powerful part for her, where she could truly feel her inner Aphrodite.
On the outfits, I told her to bring whatever she thought was cool to use and we could choose together. She loved the idea to rock a classic white shirt with something sweet under it, an intimate camisole to give a sort of a french feel, a lacy black one piece for a sexier look, and a simple yet torn white t-shirt to reveal a bit more skin.
It is definitely a great way to explore various parts of yourself, but also a way to spend a few hours laughing and having fun.
