The older we beautiful and powerful women get, the more we tend to focus on what we have not done so far in our life instead of focusing on what we have achieved.Today is my 29th birthday. A couple of years ago, I saw myself married with two kids by the age of 25. Well, it has not happened (yet). Every year, I also dream of returning to the States and I plan a handful road trips (I love Google maps street view!). It has not happened. When I take a look around and check Facebook profiles of my female friends from school, at least 25% are married or do have at least one kid. And there, for one minute, I get a little jealous of their life. I have a weak moment of self-doubt. But then, I realize I'm happy. I may not have two kids, and I haven't had my dream wedding yet (that's a good thing. Finding the perfect dress will take forever.), but I'm proud of myself.
By my 29th birthday, I have successfully established my fine art photography business. What I love most about being a photographer is how I make women feel: strong, beautiful, sexy, sensual and overall wonderful. I give them self-confidence and they leave the shoot with a gorgeous smile on their face. Moreover, I love to inspire other photographers. Mentoring fellow creatives became such a great passion. Then why do I forget from time to time, how to inspire myself and how to make myself feel great?
And so on my birthday, I’m taking a day to remind myself to be grateful for what I achieved so far. To not fear aging. To look forward to all my dreams coming true one day. To enjoying the moment and not always thinking of my bucket list. But now, with the start of my last year in my twenties, I will put something new on my bucket list: having a boudoir shoot myself. Celebrating being a strong, powerful, independent, and beautiful woman and having these photos as a constant reminder!
What are you proud of? Let me know in the comment section and give yourself some credit for what you achieved so far! You will feel great afterwards, trust me. Have you had a boudoir shoot yourself? Why don't you post a link to celebrate being brave and beautiful!
