There are a lot of wonderful examples of bridal boudoirs out there, whether the brides wants them as a personal pre-wedding portrait or as a sexy gift for the groom. But this heavenly bridal boudoir by Audrey Norman Photography made us as giddy as a bride! The gorgeous lingerie, the bride’s golden hair shining in the sunlight and the ethereal veil draped over her shoulders took our breath away.
When Audrey submitted this session, she included some lovely words about her passion for boudoir photography, how to set a client at ease and what sets fine art boudoir apart:
Boudoir sessions are my absolute favorite. I just love the curve of a woman's body and the soft, feminine allure that a private session like this can bring about to make a woman feel oh-so-serene and confident. We all should be proud and comfortable with our own bodies, no matter our size, shape, or age. Every woman should gift herself a private boudoir session to celebrate her womanhood, her strength, and her beauty.
This shoot was short and simple, but in that short amount of time everything flowed so harmoniously. I wanted to convey an ethereal atmosphere that feels like you're floating on air. I wanted to create a sense of relaxation and tranquility. When I look back at these photos I feel as if I were there again.
I try to keep things simple and focus on the model/client. My main concern is to create a calm and comfortable environment so that she can be free and uninhibited. I photograph boudoir sessions not only because it's sexy and fun but most importantly to empower women. I truly feel that it's awesome to be sexy, to like your body, to be proud of your sex and to celebrate it in a classy and tasteful manner such as a fine art boudoir session.
Anyone can put a girl in lingerie and snap some pictures. But to take a girl who might think of herself as average and help her find the beauty inside that let's her shine through the camera is another story. To make her comfortable and sexy in her own skin is something that I as a fine art boudoir photographer strive for. My fine art boudoir sessions focus on telling a woman's story through film.
And what a story she tells! We hope you will spend some time this weekend thinking about new ways to tell your clients’ stories -- whether that means helping her find a way to feel sexy when she’s struggling or bringing out some other hidden part of her personality. We know we will be thinking about Audrey’s words and these images for a long time to come!
