This quaint boudoir session has our hearts all pitter-patter. The old lace details, the subtle makeup and hair, and the light-filled house to complete her story. A story of old world charm and delicate femininity. If you are ever in a situation with a client where you don't have a studio space to shoot in, their home is less than ideal, and going outside just isn't an option, an idea to explore is to look into local AirBnb listings for something historic and lovely. Chances are, the owner will allow you to use their space as long as you pay for a night, just make sure you are clear about your intentions from the very beginning.
We asked Cameo of Magnolia & Magpie Photography to share with us what inspired her to create this story, and here is what she said:
"Our aim in this shoot was to tell the story of a woman whose fiancé was called away to war, and is still deployed on the day they were to be married. The images walk you through the morning of her wedding, as she reads through letters from her love and the items she would have worn, had he been home. The images are meant to evoke ache amid beauty. As the world moves on around her, morning still comes despite her endless internal darkness, this woman finds strength and a greater self-knowledge through her loneliness."
This heart-wrenching story tugs at our emotions, and we know that this a very real hardship that some women face. We are forever grateful for those who risk it all so that we can be free. Hug an active duty or veteran today.
