Education and inspiration. We completely advocate for always learning. When you feel as though you know all there is to know, that's when you need it the most! It helps to inspire creativity, spark imagination, and create a new wonder in everything, old and new! For photographers, this usually means attending a workshop. It's such a fantastic opportunity to learn something very specific to what you are doing, and it allows those who have worked out some sort of hack to the industry to share it amongst peers. It's truly a beautiful thing.
Christina Piombetti attended a workshop in France (heart eyes!), and was able to learn and rejuvenate her own boudoir photography business. And because of that, we have these incredible images to show you.
"Earlier this year I flew to France for Sylvie Gil's exclusive 4-day film photography workshop at the Chateau de Varennes in Burgundy. The entire experience was awe-inspiring; from the intimate retreat-like structure of the workshop, to authentic French, Michelin-starred food to the expansive grounds and the amazing bonds I forged with some of the most kind, creative and supportive group of people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing. Even sleeping in the historic chateau that has been tirelessly maintained by the family for generations was amazing -- it felt like we were being steeped in French culture and old world charm.
"Jesse Tombs of Alison Events styled a beautiful setting complete with beautiful, delicate selections from Girl With a Serious Dream. The shoot took place in one of the bedrooms of this centuries-old chateau with antique family heirlooms scattered about including a beautiful pink velvet chair, an antique dress form and a beautiful writing desk adorned with golden details carved by hand. Gorgeous, natural sunlight poured in through the window and wrapped around her. Along with the French lace and tulle I wrapped her up in it was magical.
"Louise is stunning in this session. She's like the sun in that I almost can't look directly like her because her beauty is so bright. In that way there are some images that are less direct and they almost feel like a secret. I wanted the suggestion of sensuality, without being too obvious. For me, it makes the images all the more alluring.
"Her calm confidence and playful personality came through and you could just tell she felt sexy in a way that I hope every bride is able to experience. That’s my goal for every boudoir session, for the woman to feel herself and to pull her unique personality through in the photos."
Speaking of workshops....oh, nevermind, you will just have to wait and see!
