What are the first things you think of when someone says romantic? For us, it brings to mind a cozy room, some candles burning, some soft music playing, and definitely some lace. Anna of Anna Tereshina Photography was inspired by the French countryside for her romantic and dreamy boudoir session, focusing not on the model but on the details of setting the romantic mood. We are excited to share her insight into creating the perfect setting for a mood based boudoir today, so pour yourself a glass of wine and enjoy!
This set is more about mood and atmosphere, not much about the person. It was inspired by the place: a beautiful villa, a guesthouse, rebuilt from an old farmhouse. I was fascinated by big windows, giving soft natural light and mix of modern and vintage furniture and decor.
For the mood I inspired myself with romantic French details, such as lace, old keys collection, delicious macarons, feathers and flowers. Pretty modern lace lingerie sets, lightly colored and simple. Sensual dark red lips are contrasting with the lightness of skin and lace. I love the dreamy nostalgic mood that has been creating in the shooting.
The first time I looked at the viewfinder of my camera, as I set all things up and model get dressed, I could tell the session was full of harmony. I am using almost exclusively film, so the feeling was more intuitive. Natural light is thing number one when I imagine when I think about shooting. It's also kind of impressionism in photography. Impression and emotion, shot preferably on film with natural light.
