When I started this little photography business of mine, I envisioned the ability to gift women with seeing their true inner beauty. As a military wife, I know that the priorities of everyday life become consuming and we put ourselves on the back burner most of the time as the needs of children and our men in uniform come first. We spend long days and even longer nights waiting on a text or a call from our significant other that lasts only a few minutes when they’re in the field or thousands of miles away from home. I wanted to take a day and focus on the women behind the men who so bravely serve our country. Focus on their quirks and imperfections but show them that’s what makes them unique and beautiful all the same. I strive to provide an experience that exudes grace over perfection. Having stepped into the realm of boudoir photography, I wanted to change the common misconceptions most have about it by providing a comfortable atmosphere. I specifically selected this gorgeous Desert View Hideaway location to provide me with the ability to have the focus on these gorgeous women. Simple décor with a bohemian feel and soft neutral colors that displayed the most beautiful natural light allowed me to highlight the beauty and intimacy of each woman. I think the most rewarding experience for me was witnessing these women open up and embrace themselves. “Beauty begins the moment you decide to be yourself “ – Coco Chanel. Erika was no exception. She opted to forego lingerie with a vision to be herself in her Calvin’s. We pampered her with hair, makeup (and wine of course) and I watched all her insecurities melt away. If I could give this gift to every woman, I would. It’s so important that we love who we are no matter what season of life we are in. I hope to continue to bless women with the gift of boudoir photography as it’s been the most fulfilling work I’ve experienced in my career so far!
