An anniversary boudoir session. It is a common misconception that the only good time to get boudoir photos taken is as a bride for your groom-to-be, but we are here to challenge this notion and show you that any reason will do! Anouschka Rokebrand photographed this beautiful woman for her fifth year of marriage, and we are so happy she did. This golden light and soft surroundings are a perfect tone for a married woman, still very much in love.
"Arusha will celebrate her 5th wedding anniversary in a few months and before the wedding, she never did a bridal boudoir session. So why not do this for an anniversary?
"We headed to a gorgeous nature reserve and were treated to the most stunning light. With 2 sets of lingerie, one white and one blush pink, a gorgeous veil and stunning lace robe & romper from Mes Petites Dentelles, we managed to create a few different looks for Arusha that still all worked together beautifully.
"We added beautiful jewelry from DRKS, a headpiece by Naturae Design and gorgeous bouquet created by Gift by Nature to complete the look. Kimi from The Kimi Collective had created gorgeous quotes on stunning paper. Marianne kept the look of Arusha's make-up quite natural and added a beautiful braid to her hair. We really wanted this session to focus on light, on textures and on pastel colours. We aimed for luminous, airy and romantic with this session.
"I adore these sessions so much. There is something empowering for girls to do a boudoir shoot and this one is so delicate and refined. The soft look of film, the delicate lace and stunning light paired with the pastels from the flowers, it all worked together beautifully. Doing a boudoir session is usually such a step to take for women and doing a shoot outdoors, that really takes guts. I applaud Arusha for doing this session and hope she empowers other women to do a shoot for them too. Because honestly, a boudoir shoot is something you do for you. Yes, they make wonderful gifts for your significant other, but, it gives you a sense of empowerment and the chance to document you at this point in time. Years down the line you will look at this images and feel empowered again, I'm sure of it."
