In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, sometimes it’s nice to take a break and think about simplicity. Inspired by black and white movies and classic images of Grace Kelly on a beach, Audrey of Le Secret d’Audrey shows us that boudoir can be as simple as a black one piece and sea-salt waves. In a season filled with dressing everything up, this easy going boudoir is a breath of fresh air.
As a photographer in Paris, I know people envy me. But because it is human nature, I envy photographers in California. This light! For a while I wanted to do a simple and elegant photoshoot on the beach at sunset with some muted colors, not the typical colors you would think of California. I feel that boudoir should be subtle images of the real you and not dressed up images with a costume of what sexy should be.
I styled Serena with a simple one piece bathing suite and we hit the beach right at sunset for some classic portraits. The weather was cloudy all day and it was freezing. But suddenly we saw some sun and even if it was still cold and windy, Serena decided to go with it as it was a gift for herself to have these shots taken to celebrate a new beginning in her life. I love raw portraits of women without artifices or props but rather an authentic portrait to see the real beauty.
