On a recent backpacking trip to Europe, Renee Hollingshead set out to work with international wedding planners throughout Southern Europe on some styled wedding and boudoir sessions. When a friend recommended she get in contact with Laura from Fueron Felices, she knew she had found the right match for a timeless Barcelona inspired shoot. Renee shared her inspiration for the session and some of the lovely behind the scenes details with us:
It was important to us to capture this "getting ready" moment in a beautiful way to inspire brides to remember those first waking moments on their wedding day. We began a cloudy morning with one of the most beautiful boudoir sessions I've ever photographed. As the rain sprinkled outside of this flat right in the middle of the city, we created a romantic atmosphere using real vintage nightgowns passed down from Laura's grandmother. We loved the authenticity of this shoot, the natural setting, and the pretty details that made it all so romantic.
The most memorable moment from the shoot is when Claudia, our model, stepped out from the bathroom in Laura's grandmother's slip. It was such a special moment for Claudia to wear something so near and dear to our planner, feel beautiful in something so old, and for Laura to see that piece of silk come to life. Claudia was absolutely stunning and we love the little details that made this morning feel so intimate and special.
We adore the idea of a legacy bridal boudoir session and thank Renee for sharing this gorgeous example with us. The expression of authenticity in sharing family heirlooms is something that can only add to the intimacy of boudoir art. If you’re lucky enough to have vintage lingerie, we can’t think of a better way to use it.
