Sometimes the very best things in life come as a surprise. Unexpected and certainly unplanned, this impromptu boudoir by Christy Swanberg captures the magic of when everything falls into place without much effort but ends up making a big impact on the days of everyone involved. Christy was also able to put the uniqueness of the spontaneous and unforgettable session into words, sharing with us:
Vanessa was the hair stylist for a joined boudoir marathon styled shoot with Adorn Boutique. We were so excited to have her talent on our team. What I never foresaw that would happen is when she turned to me and asked if I would capture her after we were done with all the scheduled darlings were done. Of course I jumped at the opportunity!
I will never forget the moment I took my first test shot of Vanessa: she was just stunning. It was as if, no matter what she did or what she wore, I kept going toward her alluring eyes and how true to herself she was. It got me to thinking about how to be in one's early twenties and to know who you are is a beautiful gift and I wish more young ladies had it. Vanessa is a strong and ambitious who feels comfortable in her own skin and glows with grace in each and every frame as you can see from this impromptu boudoir session.
I find I go back to this session more than any other boudoir session I have ever photographed because of how natural, undirected and just loads of fun it was. I really can't say who laughed more, her or me with my camera in my face. All in all, I think being a woman and photographing women should be just that, a natural documentation of whatever stage the lady is in while dancing like nobody's watching.
